Marc Weller

Marc Weller is the Director of the European Centre for Minority Issues, a lecturer in international law and relations in the University of Cambridge and a fellow of the Lauterpacht Research Centre for International Law and of Hughes Hall. He is also the Director of the Carnegie-Cambridge project on settling self-determination disputes through complex power sharing. He is an expert on conflict management and post-conflict peace building and has authored/edited several books and other publications on issues of international law, self-determination and human and minority rights. In addition to his academic work, he has been an advisor to governments and delegations to the UN Security Council, and he has participated in a number of international attempts to settle ethnopolitical conflicts in Europe and around the world.

Ewa Chylinski

Ewa Chylinski is ECMI Deputy Director and has joined the team directly from the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights in Warsaw where she was a project coordinator for several years. She has an extensive background in management and development of academic and other projects and advisory experience in democratization and human rights promotion and protection programmes. She also has an extensive research and field experience from the Caucasus, Eastern Europe and Central Asia as a human rights officer at the OSCE and as a former Assistant Professor and Researcher at the Institute of East-West Studies at the University of South Jutland, Denmark.

Eben Friedman

Eben Friedman is ECMI's Regional Representative for Romani integration. He completed the PhD programme in political science at the University of California, San Diego in September 2002. His doctoral thesis, entitled "Explaining the Political Integration of Minorities: Roms as a Hard Case," drew on two years of field research in Slovakia and Macedonia. He also holds an MA in political science from the Johns Hopkins University, where he specialized in international relations. At ECMI, his activities focus mainly on Macedonia and Roms.

Jasmina Ristic

Jasmina Ristic has been appointed as a Office/ Finance Manager at ECMI. She has more than 5 years of working experience in several international organizations. Her responsibilities in ECMI include handling of all administrative and financial issues, as well as coordination of the logistical support and operations of the ECMI Regional Office Skopje.

Verica Grdanoska

Verica Grdanoska is Outreach Manager for ECMI in the Republic of Macedonia.
She is responsible for developing and maintaining the projects web sites, internal and external publications, e-mail newsletters and distribution lists, media contacts and logistical support for ECMI events in Macedonia.

Gordana Rodic
Gordana Rodic is Program Manager for the ECMI project on Romani Expert Groups for Romani Integration. She holds an M.A. in English Language & Literature from the University of Utrecht , The Netherlands, where she specialised in American studies. Her working experience is connected to the NGO field in the regions of former Yugoslavia as well as in the Netherlands . In recent years she worked for the UNPROFOR, Women Studies at the University of Utrecht , and the Dutch NGO “Pharos” (Centre of Expertise on Refugees and Health) where she was involved as an Officer of International Affairs. Through Admira (consultancy and training on war trauma’s sexual&domestic violence) she had the opportunity of working with the Roma NGO’s from Macedonia and Serbia from the perspective of discrimination and its reflection on the situation of domestic violence in society

Ibrahim Ibrahimi
Ibrahim Ibrahimi is Project Manager for the ECMI project on Romani Expert Groups for Romani Integration.Graduate economist, MA student – Economic Faculty. Ibrahim had worked like Program Manager in “Romaversitas“/Foundation Open Society Institute Macedonia . He was consultant for Council of Europe – Employment and Roma. Ibrahim is also a member in Roma national delegation supported by World Bank, member in the Board of Macedonian Helsinki Committee .

Sait Demir

Sait Demir has been appointed as a Secretarial/Project Assistant. He graduated mechanical engineer on the University for Mechanic “Kiril & Metodij” Skopje . Sait has three years of working experience in the NGO sector as an accountant involved in projects related to the Roma people. His special interests are computers and engineering .
